Benjamin Netanyahu is an Ashkenazi Israeli. That is a demographic description, not a secret. He was born in Tel Aviv. His father, Benzion, was born Benzion Mileikowsky in Warsaw and came from a Lithuanian–Belarus–Polish Jewish world. The grandfather, Nathan Mileikowsky of Kreva (now Belarus), was a rabbi, Hebrew teacher, and Zionist organiser. When the family entered Mandate Palestine they Hebraized the surname, as many Ashkenazi immigrants did. Mileikowsky became Netanyahu — “God has given.” The new name was a political act: leave the diaspora label, take a Hebrew one, plant the family in the national story. His mother, Tzila Segal, was born in Petah Tikva, already in the land, of Lithuanian, Polish, and Belarusian Jewish descent. So one side arrived; one side was already there. That is a common Israeli pattern, not an anomaly.

Rabbinic
The paternal house was clergy and Hebrew literacy, not a random merchant myth.
Zionist
The family was in the movement before the state existed. They did not discover Israel in 1948.
Hebraized
The name change is itself the ideology — Europe as departure point, Hebrew as destination.
Ashkenazi
The Eastern European Jewish diaspora, with the same mixed Levantine-plus-European ancestry that genetic studies assign to that population as a whole. It is not a Turkic conversion certificate, and it is not “no connection to the Near East.”

- That Ashkenazi equals Khazar.
- That a Polish-Lithuanian Jewish family is therefore fake.
- That ancestry decides whether a war is just. Policy is not proven by a grandfather’s town.
What it will say, because it is useful
Israel’s long-running prime minister is not a mystery bloodline. He is the product of a specific Jewish route — Pale of Settlement, Hebrew revival, Mandate immigration, revisionist Zionism through the father, native birth through the mother. If you want to argue with Netanyahu, argue with that machine: the name change, the security doctrine, the American years, the party he built. Do not argue with a map that paints Eastern Europe yellow and calls it Mongolia.
