File 33 · the tweet vs the record
KHAZIN
He was on the Maidan. He was not the founder.
David Miller (@Tracking_Power) posted that the Azov Battalion was founded by ex-IDF officer Natan Khazin, funded by “Jewish supremacist” oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who also bankrolled Zelensky. Three desks got welded into one blood story. This file splits them.

Split the desks
SPLIT
Azov was founded by Natan Khazin.
Founder and commander of record is Andriy Biletsky (Patriot of Ukraine / Social-National Assembly), May 2014, Mariupol. Washington Post, The Times, and The Independent name him. A 9 Dec 2014 Fakty piece calls Khazin “one of the founders” and quotes him that twenty-six men from his column became Azov’s backbone, then the unit split. That is a participant line in a tabloid, not the command record.
HIS ACCOUNT
He was an ex-IDF officer.
His own account, Espreso TV, 20 March 2014, published in The Forward 7 April 2014: IDF officer, served in the Gaza Strip, from Odesa, ordained rabbi, commander of the Jewish sotnia on the Maidan. Ukrainian Jewish Encounter (2016): he took part in the spring 2014 liberation of Mariupol, then co-created the drone unit Aerorozvidka. That biography is his. It is not a deed of foundation.
SPLIT
Kolomoisky funded Azov as a Jewish supremacist.
Ihor Kolomoisky, governor of Dnipropetrovsk 2014–15, is the documented patron of Dnipro-1 (Ministry of Internal Affairs plus Fund Dnipro-1; reporting puts his outlay near $10 million). Azov money from him is a secondary link, not a founding charter. “Jewish supremacist” is the tweet’s insult. It is not a title on this file.
COMMERCE
He bankrolled Zelensky.
Kolomoisky’s 1+1 aired Kvartal 95 and Servant of the People. That is the media machine. Slidstvo.Info (2021), off the Pandora Papers: about $40 million from Kolomoisky-linked firms to Zelensky-circle offshore companies from 2012, while 1+1 was buying the studio’s product. Kolomoisky called it ordinary commerce. Later: U.S. sanctions, and his 2023 detention in Ukraine. Patronage is on the card. A signed puppet contract is not.
This file will not say
- That an ex-IDF officer founded Azov. Biletsky founded it and commanded it.
- That the bunk still — red over black, a star, captioned NATAN CHAZIN — is Azov insignia. Azov’s mark is the wolfsangel. This flag is not that mark.
- That “Jewish supremacist” is a sourced office. It is the tweet’s adjective. File 01: the lineage detour. Ancestry does not decide the war.
- That Biletsky’s far-right record is erased. The 2010 “white races” line is in the Washington Post file; he denies it. Early Azov drew Patriot of Ukraine cadre. That sentence is not Khazin’s biography.
This file will say
- Natan Khazin commanded the Jewish sotnia on the Maidan, said he was an IDF officer who served in Gaza, took part in Mariupol in spring 2014, and co-created Aerorozvidka.
- Azov’s founder of record is Andriy Biletsky. A tabloid “one of the founders” line does not move the command.
- Kolomoisky’s clean battalion is Dnipro-1. His clean Zelensky line is 1+1, Kvartal 95, and the Slidstvo offshore scheme — commerce he disputes, not a racial franchise.
